FAQ

Unfortunately, the wide variety of bicycle frames also means there are many different headset standards. That’s why it’s not possible to say in general which headset will fit your frame. The easiest way to check compatibility is by using our headset finder

  • Upper headset bearing pressed into a bearing cup
  • Compression ring with seal for a 1 1/8" steerer tube
  • Headset top cover
  • Aluminum top cap
  • Star nut + adjustment screw

“Install it and forget it” is our motto. Nothing is more annoying than bike parts that let you down and require lots of maintenance — your time is valuable and should be spent riding whenever possible. That’s why we use a whole range of seals which, together with our special headset grease, help ensure you enjoy your headset for a long time.

If you use your bike the way the engineers intended, your headset will eventually wear out. The only way to prevent that would be to ride only in dry conditions on bike paths to the ice cream shop. Bearings are, unfortunately, wear parts. But the good news is: if you don’t blast your headset with a pressure washer and use bike cleaners like Muc-Off sparingly around the bearings, you should enjoy your headset for a long time.

Headsets are a complex component. With so many different standards and sizes, it’s not always easy to understand what you need. If you have any further questions, feel free to get in touch with us at any time. You can find the best way to reach us here
