FAQ
It's very difficult to recommend which shoe size is best for which pedal size. We have three different pedal sizes that should cater to almost every shoe size, but the size you choose is a subjective matter as it depends very much on your personal preferences and intended use. If we were forced to do so, we would make the following recommendation for use on your trail bike:
sl-pedal: shoe size up to 39
md-pedal: shoe size 39 to 43
xl-pedal: shoe size 43 and up
However, the transition between these sizes is fluid, so the choice is ultimately yours to make and we recommend also taking your weight and personal preferences into consideration when doing so.
Your shoes are an important factor in the amount of grip you have on the pedals. Here at acros, almost all of us prefer riding in shoes from Five Ten, though we can also recommend those from ION. Alternatively, you can also experiment with lengthening the pins if you want more grip. However, you've got to remember that doing so will also wear out your shoes a lot quicker. If you want less grip, you can use shorter pins or resort to the included spacers.
There are two things you can do to extend the service life of the pedals. First of all, we recommend regularly checking the outer seals for damage. Secondly, it always helps to service the pedals regularly. We're currently working on an instruction manual to help you do so.
