The Propain Tyee 5 has been around since 2020 and is still state of the art with its Pro10 rear triangle - the new Tyee 6 is also based on the same suspension. So it's no wonder that Laurin is still riding the bike after five seasons. Of course, a few add-on parts have been replaced here and there, but the frame still works as it did on day one.

In the first year, the Tyee not only served Laurin as a pure leisure bike, but also as a work tool for his job as a riding technique instructor. Whether beginner, expert or bike park courses, the Propain could be used to ride and teach everything. When Laurin retired from teaching riding technique on the bike, his Propain Tyee 5 CF was optimized once again. Now it's a carbon bike that feels comfortable on any downhill and doesn't take too much energy on the climbs.

Laurin has given his bike an acros enduro carbon wheelset to go with the carbon frame and SRAM carbon cranks. The robust rims, the aesthetic bladed spokes and the lightweight hubs with the unmistakable acros sound significantly enhance the bike. In return, the weight of the bike is noticeably reduced. And the hubs are also very easy to maintain at home - a dream for all DIY enthusiasts.

The steel spring damper gives you an idea of what really matters to Laurin on an extended enduro tour: the downhill segments. The extra energy he has to invest uphill is definitely well invested. And also increases the training effect :) After a few rides, it became clear that the 780 mm wide acros aluminum handlebars were a little too wide, which is why Laurin went against the trend and went back to 760 mm. A positive side effect: contact with trees is minimized on narrow trails in dense forests.

Yes, in racing you hardly ever see athletes on flat pedals anymore. But there are still some out there and Laurin is definitely a fanboy of all the flat pedal racers out there. That's exactly why he opts for the acros flatpedal in silver. Laurin's bike has also changed color over time. Starting out in all black with silver decals, the bike now shines in a beautiful 3-piece combination: black or carbon raw as the base color with red and silver details.

The latest change is the red Marzocchi Bomber Z1 fork. It has replaced the old RockShox Lyrik and is not only an eye-catcher in terms of color. With a Fox Grip cartridge and the massive design, it smoothly dampens everything that gets in its way. The red color is not only found on the suspension elements, the grips and the cage of the SRAM X0 rear derailleur also round off the appearance as accents.

With the Schwalbe Tacky Chan tires and their Super Gravity carcasses, you can find grip in any situation and on any surface. The Shimano Saint brakes help to slow you down when it really matters. The choice of these two components also shows that the focus is on downhill performance.

Laurin only replaced his ball bearings a few months ago. And we're not talking about the acros zs headset with stainless steel bearings, but about the frame bearings in the rear triangle. Here too, acros stainless steel bearings are used to withstand even the worst weather conditions. Propain already supplies the bikes with these.
