Tomas

A quick turn of the bearing shells and the steep 64.8° became a flat 64° head angle!

Christian

Great idea! So far also without creaking and that is not obvious especially with angle headsets.

will this angle headset 0.4° 41/52 fit my bike?

This angle headset will only fit your bike if the manufacturer has already specified this at the factory. In addition, the upper head tube diameter must be 44.9mm and the lower head tube diameter 55.9mm.

which angle headset version do I need?

To ensure that the steering angles are the same for frames of different sizes, different headset versions are required. You can easily find out which version is right for your bike by determining the head tube length of your frame. You can then easily select the right version via the drop-down menu. You can choose between the lengths 103mm, 113mm and 133mm.

our angle adjustment headset 0,4° 41/52

A headset is one of those essential components of a bike that you don’t even recognize at first. It’s also much more complex than you would think at first glance.

Our angle adjustment headset is the result of a long period of testing, head scratching and tweaking with the goal to make it the best solution on the market. Today it’s used by several bike brands such as Cube and Radon. We use our very own stainless steel angular contact headset bearings. Moisture and dirt is kept outside of your bearings with two double lip sealings and our optimized headset grease. That way we offer you a product that’s supposed to last, no matter what your adventure throws at you.You can of course expect the same durability from your angle adjustment headset that you are used from our other headsets.

In addition our angle adjustment headset comes with additional well thought-out seals to further prevent water and dirt from even making its way to the heart of your headset: the bearing. This guarantees durability with minimal maintenance effort - so that you can maximize your good times in the saddle.

Please note though that it can’t be used on every frame, as frames have to be prepared during production to work “hand in hand” with our angle adjustment headset.

  • double-sealed angular contact bearings
  • bearings made of stainless steel
  • fork crown race with cured-on sealing
  • compression ring made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic with cured-on seal
  • easy head angle adjustment
  • easy and convenient bearing change

features

easy adjustment of the steering angle

Depending on the installation position of the bearing shells, the steering angle can be adjusted. However, the angle headset can only be installed on frames that have been prepared for our headset by the manufacturer.

frequently asked questions

High quality angular contact ball bearings

We use special angular contact ball bearings in our aftermarket headsets. They can cope particularly well with the radial and axial forces occurring at the head tube and thus contribute to the long durability of the headset.

water-resistant bearing grease

We use water-resistant bearing grease that has been specially optimised for use in headset bearings. It is particularly tough and stays where it belongs: inside the bearing. It protects your headset particularly well and for a long time from wear.

sophisticated sealing technology

A whole series of seals effectively keeps moisture and dirt away from the heart of our headsets, the angular contact ball bearings. For you, this means: less maintenance and longer durability!

sealing on base plate and compression ring

We vulcanise a self-reinforcing seal onto the base plate and compression ring. An extra robust material prevents the seal from becoming brittle over time. The bearing is thus optimally protected and only minimal friction is generated.

double lip seal

The industrial ball bearings in our headsets are equipped with a double lip seal. This prevents water or dirt from entering the headset bearing and washing out the bearing grease. This ensures a long service life.

how can I tell if I have a flat or steep steering angle?

How can I tell if I have a flat or steep steering angle? The angle headset without ICR uses different bearing shells -in size- for the upper and lower part. The markings on the bearing shells must always point in the same direction when mounted.

For a flat steering angle, both markings must point forward, i.e. in the direction of travel. If, on the other hand, you want to use the steep steering angle option, both markings must point to the rear, i.e. against the direction of travel.

what is included in the scope of delivery of this angular headset 0.4° 41/52?
  • Upper and lower angle headset shells
  • Upper and lower bearing
  • Headset cover
  • base plate 1.5"
  • compression ring 1 1/8"
How can I maximise the life of my headset?

If you use your bike the way the designers intended, your headset will eventually wear out. The only way to prevent this is to only ride your bike on the cycle path to the ice cream parlour when it is dry. Unfortunately, bearings are and always will be wearing parts. But the good news is: if you don't use a high-pressure cleaner on the headset at full throttle and use bike cleaners such as Muc-Off sparingly in the area of the bearings, you should have fun with your headset for a long time.

why does acros attach so much importance to the headset seal?

"Install and forget" is our motto. Nothing is more annoying than bike parts that let you down and need a lot of care, because your time is precious and should be spent on the bike if possible. That's why we use a whole range of seals that, together with our special headset grease, play a decisive role in ensuring that you enjoy your headset for a long time.
