Our new tpf bottom bracket (threaded press-fit) is bursting with innovative technology. Starting with the injection-molded housing, which guarantees a coaxial fit by screwing the two bearing cups together, and thus preventing any annoying creaking of the bottom bracket. Moreover, the design minimizes weight, thereby combining the advantages of press-fit bottom brackets with those of classic threaded versions. It also increases the service life of the ball bearings, as the tpf bottom bracket design is less affected by varying frame tolerances, while the increased number of balls in the bearings reduce play in the system. Should the ball bearings reach their end of life due to lack of maintenance or excessive commuting – bottom bracket bearings remain wear parts, after all – they're a breeze to replace. Schrägkugellager können kombinierte Belastungen aus Radial- und Axialkräften, wie sie beim Pedalieren und im Wiegetritt auftreten, besonders gut wegstecken.

Wir nutzen ein Lagerfett, das speziell für die Anwendung in Steuersatzlagern optimiert wurde. Es ist besonders zäh und wasserresistent und trägt maßgeblich zur langen Lebensdauer der Kugellager bei.

Bei den von uns entwickelten Lagern handelt es sich um Industriekugellager mit einer zweifachen Doppellippendichtung. Sie verhindert, dass Wasser oder Schmutz in das Schrägkugellager eintreten und das Lagerfett entweichen kann.

Die Staubschutzkappe schützt das Lager zusätzlich und verhindert als Trennschicht zwischen Achse und Lager Knarzgeräusche. Verantwortlich dafür sind die selbst schmierenden und zähelastischen Eigenschaften der Schutzkappe aus Polyoxymethylen (POM).

Bottom bracket bearings are and will remain wear parts; there's nothing even we can do about that... However, you can extend their service life considerably by not pointing your high-pressure cleaner directly at them, using liquid cleaning agents sparingly, and occasionally checking whether the bearings still have enough grease.
